Design Co-op
During the summer of 2024, I had the privilege of completing a co-op with the Society for Experiential Graphic Design (SEGD). SEGD is a global, multidisciplinary nonprofit organization dedicated to designers. In my role, I contributed to various aspects of their global events, including designing forms, schedules, and presentations. I also assisted with website design and supported their annual Global Design Awards.

Global Design Awards
I was responsible for developing the webpages for the SEGD Global Design Awards. These awards honor designers and design firms whose work innovates the practice of experience design and enriches the human experience for people of all backgrounds and abilities.
We Miss Your Mug!
I was tasked with creating a marketing graphic featuring a thank you message to show appreciation for SEGD's growing community. I also had the wonderful opportunity to teach an incoming first-year design student my design process for this project.
Marketing Redesigns
I was responsible for redesigning various materials, including forms, posters, and banners, for both recurring and new SEGD events using Adobe Creative Cloud. Additionally, a design I created was presented to graduating students at the Latvia Art Academy as a congratulatory recognition of their efforts.
Co-op Reflection
My experience with the SEGD team was truly enriching, significantly broadening my interest in various design disciplines. My biggest takeaway was
the impact of attention to detail. This foundational skill is crucial for all designers, and I believe I made a significant leap in its development. I now understand that design is not just about aesthetics, but about purposeful creation to deliver an exceptional experience.
I also visited the SEGD Headquarters in Washington D.C. as a UC DAAP Co-op Ambassador! I was so thankful for this experience and loved D.C.
